Kanyakumari
or Cape Comorin is located in the southern most tip of India in the state of
Tamil Nadu. It is about 70 km from Trivandrum and is surrounded by Arabian
Sea, Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. The place is popular for its unique
views of the sunshine and sunset.
Best Time for Beach Holidays
Kanyakumari is surrounded by seas and so enjoys a pleasant climate
throughout the year. But the most suitable period to visit this place is
between the months of October and March. During summers, the maximum
temperature rises up to 34 degrees C and drops to 20 degrees C during
winters.

view of the beach. The beach is also an important pilgrimage destination as
the confluence point of the seas and so called the "Thriveni Sangam".

Sangam and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
» The Sangam - It is the confluence
point of the three major bodies of water, the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea
and the Indian Ocean. There is also a bathing ghat, where people generally
bath and swim around.
» Vivekananda Rock Memorial - It is a huge stone
emerging out of the sea and is a major attraction of Kanyakumari. It is
believed that Swami Vivekananda had meditated on this rock and so named as
Vivekananda's rock. Now it houses a statue of Vivekanda and is a memorial to
him.
