Goa

Goa,
one of the smallest state of India is located along the western coast and is
400 kms from Bombay. It is bounded by Maharashtra on the north, Karnataka on
the east & south, and by the Arabian Sea on the west. The capital of the
city is Panaji. Earlier it was a colony of Portuguese and in the year 1962
it came under the control of India. In 1987, it became a state of Indian
Union.

Winter months especially from November to January is the best time to enjoy

Goa known as the "Pearl of the Orient" is one of the most popular

» Anjuna Beach - Located in the north
Goa, it is about 18 km from the capital city. The Anjuna beach is a perfect
hangout spot for Indian as well foreign tourist and shows a mixture
tradition of east and west. The major attraction of the beach are the
monuments like the Albuquerque Mansion and Mascarenhas Mansion and Chapora
Fort. Also one can visit the Flea market popular for Tibetan, Kashmir and
Gujarati handicrafts.
» Baga Beach - The Baga beach is an ideal spot for
fishing, bathing and picnics. The main attraction of the beach is the
medicinal spring whose water is believed to be medicinal. The other tourist
spot is the Retreat House standing at the Baga Hill Top and is dedicated to
St. Francis Xavier. The beach also provides facilities for water sports like
water skiing, surfing and parasailing.

Colva Beach - This romantic beach is located in the south Goa. It is a
40 km long white sand beach fringed with palm trees. The Lady of Mercy
Church is a popular spot near the beach and popular for its annual religious
festival held in the month of October every year.
» Candolim Beach - It is another beach in Goa which
is less crowded and offers some peace & quite places to relax. Several
hotels and resorts near the beach offers various activities like fishing,
yoga and meditation sessions and some other water sport activities like
water skiing, parasailing and boating.
